Flash Mob! Living Dead Windows! Hannibal, MO Part 1

We had a fun filled evening last night!

Our little town of Hannibal, MO seems to always
have something going on in our
Historic Downtown Main Street
and that is one of the things we love so much
about living here.

Last night was the Halloween Parade,
Living Dead Windows
and
Flash Mob!
They danced to Thriller!
Yes!

Here is the video that I shot.

That was the wrap up of the evening.

First was the Halloween Parade
and then
Living Dead Windows.
It was a great evening!

Doug, Chris and I loaded up and headed downtown when
Doug got off work.

It was a cold evening ...
temp was 35 degrees
and there was a breeze blowing
which made it seem a bit colder than
it really was.

We were having so much fun
(we were out there for two hours)
that we really didn't notice how cold we were
until we headed to the car
to head home.
Burr!!!

What are Living Dead Windows?

Well,
it's like this.
Living Windows are window displays that use living people.

So ...
Living Dead Windows ...
Well,
that would be ...
you guessed it!
Real people in window displays ...
Zombies ...
Creatures ...
More Zombies ...
You're beginning to get the idea!
You walk down one side of Main Street
and
walk back up the other side
in order to see
all of the window displays.
Everyone did a great job!!!

Zombies ...

A zombie singer ...

Don't forget the clowns ...

Witches ...

Zombies ...

Zombies ...

Zombies ...

Zombies ...

Look at those eyes!

That's all the photos
it would let me load so
look for Part 2!
Soon to come!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers! Flowers! Flowers!

Tonight's post is all about flowers!

I always enjoy the flowers in the flower garden.

There have been a lot of bees out there lately buzzing around.

I have been seeing quite a few humming birds too.

These flowers are right by the swing and it is such a
pleasure to look at them while we are sitting there.

I always have marigolds because they make me think of my grandmother.
She always has marigolds around in the garden and around the house
to keep the bugs away.

Zinnias are my favorite flower to have in the garden.
They bloom continuously and are always so pretty.

These came up accidentally.
Cute little boogers.

And morning glory.
Yes, I grow morning glory on purpose.
Lol.
I think it's a nice addition to the flower garden.

Hope you enjoyed the trip through my garden.
It always makes me smile to look at them and water them.
I'm already making plans for next year's garden!

Thank you for stopping by!

'Til we meet again.

The Seasons Are Changing

These cool mornings sure do make it hard to crawl out of bed!
And they make those nice warm showers feel extra good.

We have a new shower head and it uses a lot less water then the old shower head did.  How do I know this?  Because it says so on the package?  Nope.  I know this because when I take a shower I put the stopper in the tub drain so I can soak my feet while I shower.  I used to end up with water to my ankles by the end of my shower ... now it's barely over the top of my feet. I'm not complaining.  The soak still feels good and it makes me feel good to know we're saving water.

Sometimes you meet people and they make an impact on your life.  If you haven't checked out Helene, One On The Run ... you should do so.  Doug and I met Helene and Janeen when Helene was making her run through Missouri.  Her motto, "Rethink Impossible" and reading her story inspired me so much.  Look her up on Facebook ... the page is "One On The Run".  You should also look her up on www.oneontherun.com and read her story.

Those of you who have known me for a while ... and if you're my family ... you know that Ava Jane is one of my nicknames.  And no ... Jane is not my middle name.  What?  Yep!

I caught out cat, Monster, looking out the winder yesterday.  There are leaves falling ... bugs flying ... kids playing.  I'm not sure what he was looking at for sure but I'm sure it was one of those things.  He sat there for a long time watching the leaves blowing in the wind.

Doug got the motorcycle out and went for a ride.  We always enjoy that.  I didn't get to go today because I was working but I'm glad that he got to go.

Hope you all have a great day!

Thank you for stopping by the blog!

Whoo hoo! I got a promotion!!!

Yes!

I know that it has been a while since I got on here.
I hope that you all have been well.

Doug and I are doing great
.

I have great news!
I got a promotion in my Plexus business!
I am now a Silver Ambassador for Plexus Worldwide!!!
I am very happy about this!
Whoo hoo!!!!

Our youngest son, Tom ...
just turned 31 a few days ago.
Where does time go?
My goodness.

Doug and I went to the
Big River Steampunk Festival
in Hannibal, MO
this weekend.

We had a great time and I got to meet some friends
who I have only known on Facebook ... in person!
That was great for me.  They are two people who inspire me very much.

Doug planted a moon flower plant for me earlier this summer.
It just bloomed it's first bloom this evening!
It is so pretty!

So pretty!
And they smell so good!

We are experiencing haze from several wildfires that are burning right now.
One is in Montana here in the US.
The other is in Canada.
For a while between 4:00 and 6:00pm the sky was yellow.
It was very strange to see.

Then a little bit after that the sun was pink.
Here is a picture that I took.

When the moon came up this evening it was red/orange.
Also due to the wildfire haze.
Here are a few pictures that I took.

Hope that you all have enjoyed your Labor Day weekend.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog.
There will be more Steampunk pictures to come.
Bye Bye for now!

Away From Home ... May 9, 2017

I have been away from home.
I loaded up my suitcase on April 26th and brought Cookie with me.

My mother had a stroke and I traveled to their house to help out while she is recovering and doing her physical therapy.
Cookie and I are doing well.
Mom is doing well.  My Daddy Bruce developed a case of shingles.
I told them both that although I know they are distressed ... it is good that the shingles happened while I was here to help with anything they needed help with.

Today has been a good day.  They have all been good days.

Doug is at home with the other fur babies ... Dooley ... Scooter ... Monster and Buttons.
Since my last post we lost our Basset Hound Sugar.

He passed away at the age of 11. We sure loved him and we miss him.

I got to see my Dad and my Mama Wanda last night.
It was good to see them.  I am very glad that they came by.

Here is what I cooked for supper tonight.  It was delicious!

It was very good!

I'll be here for a little while yet.
I hope that everyone is doing just great.
I have heard from Doug that my flowers are growing.
My iris are blooming.  Our peony has buds.
I sure am looking forward to eating some of that Swiss Chard that I planted.
Yum yum yum.

Please remember to be kind to those around you.
There is not enough kindness in this world.
And every bit of kindness ... no matter how big or small ... matters.

Enjoy this day in your life.

Tell those you love that you love them ... even if they already know that you do.

Until next time!

Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat, Doug and the Fiddle

Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat, Doug and the Fiddle

Doug sat down with the fiddle for a little bit earlier today.

He played quite a few songs.

With practice being so exhausting ...
He had to lean back and was soon joined by Monster ... the cat ...

Can you play fiddle with a cat in your lap?

Yes you can ...
but it's a little hard to keep control of your fiddle bow.

LOL

Monster is eyeing the bow ...

And Bam!
Going in for a bite!

And a few swats ...

It's such a pretty tune ...
Monster thought he'd just listen for a little bit ...

Very nice ...

Bam!
He almost caught it!

Resting now ...

Thinking ...

Sneaking ...

Ready to pounce ...

Caught it!

Going in for a bite ...

A few more swats ...

Another bite ...

A few more swats ...

Getting tired ...

And practice is over ...
just in time too!
Monster is exhausted!

LOL

Have a great day everyone!

Blessings!
